About Us
In October of 2006 the now National President, a police officer in his city, met with a few Police officers in his department and discussed getting a small group of motorcycle enthusiast together to ride on small outings and group trips. The more he spoke with others about this, the more it became apparent that the local and surrounding departments also had a great interest in the idea. With that, he began to research other Law Enforcement MC's and considered joining two others. After listening to the thoughts of other officers in his department, and careful consideration, it was decided to start a Motorcycle Club with its National Headquarters based in the city of his occupation, Springfield, Tennessee. One of the Other LEMC's that was considered was Texas based "The Posse". Though we decided to create our own MC, our relationship with "The Posse" has remained on good terms as we support each other with our causes. We also wanted to honor the Firefighters, EMS, and other public safety occupations.
By November of 2006, THE SOUTHERN LAWMEN MC was well on its way to being organized and the National Club Officers were selected. In the month of December there was intense focus on the development of logos, custom badges, mascots, and ordering full member and associate member patches.
By January 21, 2007, the club had its' first official meeting and had grown to a good number of members. The website development was almost completely finished. Support T-shirts had been designed and orders were in the works. There are groups in Nashville, Oklahoma, Florida, and Colorado, who have expressed interest in starting chapters of THE SOUTHERN LAWMEN MC in their States.
